Welcome to Python Basics

Python is one of the most widely used languages in the world -- it powers everything from web backends to data science to the automation scripts that quietly save people hours of work. It's also one of the most readable languages to learn first, because its syntax was designed to look close to plain English.

This course assumes zero prior programming experience. By the end, you'll be comfortable writing small real programs: not just following along, but building things.

What you'll need

• Python installed (get it from python.org if you don't have it).
• Any text editor -- VS Code is a solid free option.
• A willingness to make mistakes. Error messages are normal, not a sign you're doing it wrong.
